Physics 173 Internet Question of the Week


The Questions

September 29 - October 3, 1997

Question #1:

Use a major search engine to locate the Web site of Bob Miller's "A Light Walk." From the Light Walk home page, view the light activities which are listed there - light walk, pinhole viewer, pinhole camera, and slide projector activities. Read or (better yet) do one of the four activities. Connect the activity which you read (or do) with the principles discussed in the Geometric Optics lab. Write one paragraph in which you describe the activity, identify the principles by which it works, and associate those principles with at least one of the activities of the Geometric Optics lab.

 

Question #2:

Ray Zuvlite uses a concave lens with a 20.0 cm focal length to produce an image of a light bulb which is five times bigger than the object. Determine the object distance. PSYW
