The Internet resources provided at our site allow you access to curriculum-specific help which will assist you in the learning of physics. Proper and effective utilization of these resources will enhance your learning, reduce your stress, and improve your grade. The links below will allow you to navigate to key areas of our Web site which offer instructional assistance and other course-relevant information.

Specific Assistance with Past Units

Click the unit titles below to navigate directly to the desired unit:

| 1-Dimensional Motion | Newton's Laws | Vectors and Projectiles | Equilibrium and Inclined Planes | Momentum | Work, Power, and Energy | Circular, Satellite and Rotational Motion | Special Relativity | Static Electricity | Current Electricity | Waves | Sound and Music | Light and Color | Reflection | Refraction |

Unit 2: Newton's Laws

  • Recognizing Forces - online help for those who are still having difficulty with recognizing the presence or absence of forces for a given physical situation.
  • Drawing Free-Body Diagrams - a set of instructional pages concerning perhaps the most important skill of the entire first quarter.
  • Inertia Animations - Several animations (with accompanying discussions) of the application of inertia principles to transportation accidents.
  • The Elephant and the Feather Animations - a pair of online animations (with accompanying discussion) of the falling motion of a feather and an elephant from the top of a tall building in the presence and in the absence of air resistance.
  • Bronco Brown Animation - An animation (with accompanying discussion) of the falling motion of a skydiver.
  • An online discussion of Newton's first law of motion and common misconceptions associated with the first law - see Lesson 1 of Unit 2 at The Physics Classroom.
  • Solving Fnet and Acceleration Problems - check out Lesson 3c and Lesson 3d of Unit 2 at The Physics Classroom.
  • An online discussion of Newton's third law of motion and common misconceptions associated with the third law - see Lesson 4 of Unit 2 at The Physics Classroom.
  • Interactive Free-Body Diagram Exercise - an interactive exercise which allows you to practice your skill at constructing free-body diagrams. You read a description of a physical situation and then choose force information from pop-up menus in order to construct the appropriate free-body diagram. Feedback is given regarding your answers and common mistakes in your analysis are identified. This exercise requires the Shockwave plug-in.

Finding Out More:

In addition to the links provided here, it is recommended that you search by topic using the Thinkronize's NetTrekker search engine - the search engine for students. The site includes a series of teacher-previewed links for a number of physics topics (as well as other school topics).
