Problem 8:

A 54.1 kg skater is carrying a 2.5 kg snowball and moving forward with a velocity of 5.9 m/s. The skater throws the snowball forward with a speed of 22.7 m/s. Determine the speed of the skater after hurling the snowball.

• Take the time to plot out a strategy prior to beginning the solution
• Identify an appropriate formula to use (or use a momentum table)
