Unit 1: One-Dimensional Kinematics
Problem Set C
The velocity-time graph at the right depicts the motion of a two-stage rocket. At what time (in seconds) does the rocket change its direction and begin to fall from its 'peak'?
A Very Useful Web Link:
There is a very relevant animation shown online that depicts the motion of a two-stage rocket. The motion of the rocket is shown and the velocity-time graph is sketched as the rocket undergoes its motion. The animation is accompanied by a short paragraph which describes how direction change is represented on a velocity-time graph. It is highly unlikely that you would miss problem 10 if you gave some attention to this particular web page/animation.
