### One-Dimensional Kinematics

Use the links below to access specific internet content for One-Dimensional Kinematics. The internet content is available at the GBS Physics web site as well as from other external sites. (Please notify the instructor of any broken links. Thanks!)

• An online tutorial of the vocabulary of kinematics - scalars, vectors, displacement, distance, speed, velocity, and acceleration - see Lesson 1 of Unit 1 of The Physics Classroom.
• An online tutorial of how to describe the motion of objects using position-time graphs - see Lesson 3 of Unit 1 of The Physics Classroom.
• An online tutorial of how to describe the motion of objects using velocity-time graphs - see Lesson 4 of Unit 1 of The Physics Classroom.
• An online tutorial describing the motion of free-falling objects and introducing the acceleration of gravity - see Lesson 5 of Unit 1 of The Physics Classroom.
• An online tutorial describing the use of kinematic equations to solve motion problems - see Lesson 6 of Unit 1 of The Physics Classroom.
• Graphing Practice - a series of questions (with solutions and explanations) to test your understanding of kinematic graphing principles and their applications.
• Animated Graphs - a series of animations of specific types of motion accompanied by the corresponding position-time, velocity-time and acceleration-time graphs.
• Interactive Graphing Exercise - an interactive exercise which allows you to analyze a velocity-time graph and extract information about the acceleration during various time periods. You then enter this information and watch an object move in accordance with your inputted values. If your analysis was correct, a graph will be constructed which is identical to the one given. This exercise requires the Shockwave plug-in.
• Unit 1 Review - this page contains a unit review of 1-Dimensional Kinematics; the page includes 28 questions on a variety of topics, links for each question to some specific information relevant to the particular question. Answers and explanations are also available.

Still under construction.
