Henderson's Regular Physics Quizzes

(1997-98 School Year)

Suggestions for this week's quest (Unit 1, Quiz #2):

The Unit 1 quest is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, September 16. The quiz will be a one-page quiz, covering both sides of a single sheet of paper. The equation for average speed, average velocity, and average acceleration will be provided. Other than a calculator, no other helps will be provided nor allowed. Students can expect the following concepts, skills, and problem-types to be assessed on this quiz:

  1. An ability to use graphical features such as slope and shape to interpret postion-time and velocity-time graphs and ultimately describe the motion of an object.
  2. An ability to perform slope and area calculations for position-time and velocity-time graphs and to use such calculations to derive quantitative information about an object's motion.
  3. An ability to match graphical descriptions of motion with verbal and pictorial descriptions of motion (and vice versa).
  4. An understanding of previous concepts from the first quiz.
See a sample quiz.
