Lesson Plan:

Bellringer - a force as a push or pull AND Think About This on p. 86

Figure 4-1 (p. 88) and Figure 4-2 (p. 89) - force as an interaction between an object and the external world; agent-system interaction; contact vs. field forces (p. 88)many examples of free-body diagrams(p. 89)

What Do Forces Do? Demonstration Lab - use of fan carts to illustrate the effect of balanced and unbalanced forces upon an object's motion.

Homework:

Read Chapter 4.1 (pp. 86-93)

Suggestions:

Read your textbook (or something, even if it is The Physics Classroom); take some notes in your course notebook and begin to work at developing an understanding of the relationship between force and motion.

Announcements/Important Info:

Bring your book and a calculator to class everyday.
