Launch Lab (p. 3 of textbook) - Do all objects fall at the same rate?

Homework:

Read Survival Packet (pp. 3-6); mark questions in side margin

Read Chapter 1.1 of textbook; answer p.10, #17 and pp. 24-25, #36, 37, and 48

Suggestions:

Acquire a lab notebook.

Begin to get familiar with your textbook.

Mini Lab (p. 8 of textbook) - Measuring Change

Homework:

Read Chapter 1.3 of textbook; answer p.19, #27-29 and pp. 24, #42, 44, and 45

Suggestions:

Acquire a lab notebook.

Learn to use your lab notebook; keep good records of labwork, "lectures", class discussions, example problems, textbook readings, etc. The notebook is for you - it is a record of what you have done.

Announcements/Important Info:

Chapter 1 ends on Tuesday, August 28. You will have a quiz that day.

Discuss pp. 15-19 (variables - dependent and independent; line of best fit; linear relationship; quadratic and inverse relationship; "y" = m•"x" + b; using equations as predictors); check p.19, #27-29 and pp. 24, #42, 44, and 45

Inertia Balance Lab - purpose, procedure, collect data, plot, generate equation

Homework:

Complete Lab (purpose, brief procedure, data, graph and equation, conclusion)
