## GBS Physics Resources

The Physics Classroom

# Henderson's Physics 163

### Thursday, March 20

Lesson Plan:

Demo preview of Chapter 15:
• Sound is a mechanical-longitudinal-pressure wave
• The source of sound is a vibrating object
• Vibrating objects have a natural frequency at which they vibrate; the frequency relates to the pitch of the object. The frequency is inversely related to the length of the object
• The sound of vibrating objects can be amplified via forced vibrations and resonance

Homework:

Announcements/Important Info:

Have a great spring break.
